Wawa will hire 5,000 new employees over the next three months, with more new stores on the way. Wochit/Produced by Jeff Neiburg
Wawa has announced plans to hire 5,000 new employees across the next three months with all 790 stores in its six-state operating area looking for talent.
The annual hiring campaign will span the spring season, looking to fill customer-service and management-level positions throughout the company.
While every store will have job opportunities available, some will host open houses called "Wawa Career Wednesdays" every Wednesday for four straight weeks, beginning March 28 and running through April 18. Potential associates can receive a brief, first interview, learn more about Wawa’s culture and explore career opportunities.
Stores hosting the open house events will have signs announcing the dates/time of the open house. Individuals interested in career opportunities at Wawa are encouraged to apply online prior to attending an Open House event.
While Wawa's expansion southward has continued of late, the chain is planning on 25 new stores in the mid-Atlantic region.
A company spokesperson said Delaware is currently home to one Wawa construction project. A new store will open sometime this spring at 1702 Rocky Run Parkway, across from Concord Mall.
