A 35-year-old man allegedly raped friends of his minor daughter by luring them with chocolates in Maharashtra's Akola district.
Mothers of three minor girls registered a complaint against the accused, Chandrakant Kashinath Jungarhe. In their complaint, the mothers accused Kashinath of raping their daughters, aged between 9 and 10 years.
The incident came to light when one of the minor girls confided in her mother and told her about the alleged sexual harassment.
The mothers, in their complaint, told the police that their daughters would go their friend's place to play. The friend's father would lure the minor girls with chocolates and take them to his room where he allegedly raped them.
The accused would give chits to each of the girls and select one name through lottery. Then, on the pretext of gifting the girl a chocolate, he allegedly raped her.
Based on the complaint, police have registered a case against Kashinath under IPC Sections 376, 354, 506 and various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Police have arrested the accused and produced him in a court. He has been remanded in five-day police custody. Police are questioning him to find out if he has raped more minor girls.
