Ant McPartlin news: Noel Edmonds BLASTS star’s ‘flippant’ friends amid drink-drive charge
ANT MCPARTLIN has taken a break from his television commitments as he returns to rehab following his drink-driving charge last week, and former Deal Or Deal host Noel Edmonds has given his advice on the matter.
Noel, 69, said Ant needs to be around “rock-solid people” and not those who “pander his ego” as he seeks treatment after being charged with drink-driving.
He said: “What Ant needs is rock-solid people around him.
"People he respects and that speak with love, rather than flippant people who pander to his ego.”
The TV presenter spoke from experience after he previously battled with depression after falling victim to financial fraud.
Ant needs is rock-solid people around him.
He told The Sun: “When you go to the darkest place, all reason and logic deserts you and you are very dependent on having good people around you.”
According the the publication, Noel spoke to Ant, 42, shortly before his involvement in a three-car crash in Richmond, when he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Ant and Dec reportedly invited Noel’s wife Liz, his stepson and a family friend to sit in the Saturday Night Takeaway audience last weekend.
Noel also added that he hopes to stay in contact with Ant, as he dubbed Ant and Dec as “probably the best live presenters we’ve ever seen in this country”.
“I hope we can get back to enjoying a brilliant talent,” he quipped.

Piers Morgan also recently spoke out about his concerns for Ant McPartlin, who first went to rehab in 2017 following an addiction to painkillers after a knee injury.
The Good Morning Britain host divulged that he thought Ant should take a “long break” from TV to focus on getting better.
Speaking on the ITV show last week, he said: “I’d like to see him off TV for a long time as he came back too soon [after his first stint in rehab].”
Piers also claimed that he felt sorry for Ant’s estranged wife Lisa Armstrong, and his co-host Declan Donnelly, 42.
He added: “Lisa does my make-up on Life Stories, she’s a delightful person.

“I never would have thought that he would do that [get divorced] for example, let alone this.
“This Ant McPartlin is not the guy I know. His life is faltering and tormented for some reason.
“I feel for Dec [Donnelly], by default, his career reaches the buffer as they’re a double act."
Ant’s break from his TV commitments has left his co-star Declan Donnelly to present the twosome's show Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway alone.
Taking to the pair’s official social media account, Dec penned: “Whilst I never thought I’d be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we’ve decided that the remaining two shows of this series of Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead.
“We made a promise to take hundreds of deserving winners to Florida to watch the series finale, and we will honour that. Everyone at ITV and the Takeaway team feels we owe it to the audience to complete the series.”
Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway returns next Saturday on ITV.
