Oppo launches first-ever smartphone with 25 MP front camera

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo on Monday launched the Oppo F7 in India.

The new smartphone from the stable of Oppo is the successor to the Oppo F5. After the Oppo F1, F3 and F5, this is the fourth smartphone in the popular series.

The Artificial Intelligence-enabled Oppo F7 becomes the first ever smartphone with a 25 mega-pixel front camera and enhanced battery endurance - besides a host of features, which are dubbed as the first time ever in India.

The smartphone is associated with four top cricketers - Team India skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin and Hardik Pandya.

At a function at The Dome, National Sports Club of India (NSCI), in Mumbai - the two variants of the phone was launched by Sharma, Ashwin and Pandya in presence of Madhav Sheth, Sales Director, Oppo India and Rishab Shrivastava, Product Manager, Oppo India.

Oppo F7 with specifications of 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM is priced at Rs 21,990, while the one with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM will be available for Rs 26,990.

Oppo will have a surprise flash sale on April 2 on Flipkart and Oppo stores as well across India.

Oppo F7 goes on sale on April 9 on Flipkart and Oppo Stores. "For the first time, a smartphone will come with a 25 MP front-facing camera. Besides this, we have also collaborated with Sony to have IMX 576 Sensor HDR which is also an industry-first," Shrivastava said.

The Oppo F7 runs on Color OS 5.0 based on Android 8.1. It also comes with the facial unlock feature. The phone also has a fingerprint sensor in the rear side. The F7 is powered by a 3400mAh battery - and works for longer duration.
