
Oppo F7, the new flagship smartphone from the Chinese player has been officially launched in India today. Oppo hosted a livestream for the launch event, which took place in Mumbai. Oppo F7’s highlight is the 25MP selfie camera and a notch on the front, similar to the iPhone X design. Oppo F7 will come with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage on board along with a 16MP camera at the back.
Oppo F7’s price in India will be Rs 21,990 for the 4GB RAM option. The 6GB RAM variant of Oppo F7 has a price of Rs 26,990. Both variants support 256GB expandable storage. Oppo F7 will go on sale in India from April 9. It will be Flipkart exclusive for online sales. However, Oppo F7 will also be available in offline stores in India. Oppo will also host a flash sale on April 2 on Flipkart and Oppo online store.

It has facial unlock feature as well. It will not respond if a user's eyes are locked, claims the company which is to ensure security.
Oppo F7 has what the company calls the 'Super Full Screen.' There are also new features for navigation. Full Screen multi-tasking can hold up other apps while users are playing games or watching videos. The display aspect ratio is 19:9. Oppo F7 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P60 processor. Expandable memory support is 256GB. The smartphone runs Colour OS 5.0 with Android Oreo 8.1.
Beautify 2.0 will differentiate between a man and woman when taking the selfie. It will categorise the two gender differently, according to the company.
Oppo F7's launch event begins in Mumbai. On stage is Will Yang, Brand director of Oppo India, and he talks about the company's committment to Make in India program. 'We produce more localised products in India,' he says. Talks about launch of Oppo F3 and F5. The latter focused on selfies with AI feature. Oppo plans to debut in the European market in latter half of 2018.
Oppo F7 will come in three colour variants and the company has shared the official images on its Twitter feed. Oppo F7 will come in Diamond Black, Moonlight Silver and Solar Red and sport a glossy design.
Oppo F7 will be powered by the Mediatek Helio P60 processor, which is an octa-core one. The processor will be clocked at 2Ghz. Oppo F7 will come in two RAM storage variants. 4GB +64GB and 6GB +128GB storage.
Oppo F7 and Vivo V9 both come with a design similar to the iPhone X, at least from the front. Both phones have a notch space for the front camera. Oppo F7's front camera will be 25MP with a focus on AI features for selfies. Oppo F7 however, has a single rear camera, while Vivo V9 has a dual rear camera, stacked vertically. The display on both Oppo F7 and Vivo V9 has an aspect ratio of 19:9.
Oppo F7 launch will be streamed live on the company's YouTube page as well. The event will start at 12.30 pm.
Oppo has already confirmed the display on theF7. It will be 6.2-inches with FHD+ resolution (2280 x 1080 pixels). The aspect ratio is 19:9 and not 18:9 as some other newer Android smartphones sport. The Oppo F7 has an 89.09 per cent screen-to-body ratio. For comparison, the iPhone X's aspect ratio is 19.5:9. Oppo plans to add a 'Notch Assistant' feature on its new smartphone where users can access gestures to navigate between apps.
