SURAT:
A couple,
who attempted suicide at Dumas beach, were admitted to a
private hospital for treatment.

Kothi (31), and Vipul Mer (28), both residents of Ved Road, had consumed a poisonous substance and were found unconscious on
Dumas beach on Saturday. Locals rushed them to the hospital. Police said their health was stable and they were out of danger.
Police said Mer was manager at a diamond polishing unit where Kothi worked as a polisher. Both are married and live with their families on Ved Road. They were having an affair for the past three years and wanted to get married. They were frustrated as they were unable to live together. Police suspect that was the reason behind their suicide attempt. Police have started registering statements of their family members and colleagues to find out more details about them.
