British driver hands officer Simpson driver’s license

A driver in England presented a fake driver’s license featuring a character form The Simpsons at a traffic stop, police said. Thames Valley Police shared a photo of the driver’s license featuring the name “Homer Simpson” along with an image of the cartoon patriarch delivering his iconic catch phrase “D’oh.””Earlier this week, [roads policing] PC Phillips stopped a car in Milton Keynes. When she tried to identify the driver’s ID, she found the below,” police wrote alongside a photo of the license.

Twitter users pointed out the unidentified male driver made several mistakes when crafting the spoof license, printing the incorrect address and date of birth for the well-known cartoon character. “Everyone knows that Homer Simpson lives at 742 Evergreen Terrace! Amateur...” one user wrote.

Police weren’t amused by the man’s stunt and he faced another charge after the officer learned he had no insurance. “The driver’s car was seized and he was reported for driving with no insurance and driving without a proper license,” police said.

Woman finds tooth while eating cashews

An Ohio woman says she found a tooth with dried blood on it while eating cashews. WOIO-TV reports Nickolette Botsford said she felt something hard while eating the nuts and vomited when she saw it looked like a tooth.

The Ravenna woman said a hospital confirmed it as a human tooth spotted with dried blood. Her hospital report says she was treated for exposure to blood or bodily fluids. It’s unclear what product Botsford was eating and where it was purchased. Botsford called Planters’ parent company, which recently picked up the tooth for testing. Kraft Heinz Co., based in Pittsburgh and Chicago, confirmed the item was a “foreign object” and said it’s investigating its manufacturing process and suppliers. The company’s email Tuesday night says it hasn’t received any related complaints.

Taiwan’s 8-hour rainbow world’s longest lasting

Guinness World Records is officially recognizing a rainbow recorded by a university in Taiwan as the longest-lasting on record, appearing for 8 hours, 58 minutes. The record-keeping organization announced a ceremony is being planned for Saturday at Taipei’s Chinese Culture University, where professors in the Department of Atmospheric Science documented the Nov. 30, 2017, rainbow.

One of the professors, Chou Kun-hsuan, said the rainbow was visible from 6:57 a.m. until 3:55 p.m., smashing the record set by a 1994 rainbow in Wetherby, England, that lasted for 6 hours. “It was amazing... It felt like a gift from the sky... It’s so rare!” Chou told the BBC in December, when the university announced it was submitting evidence of the rainbow to Guinness.

The ceremony Saturday is expected to be attended by CCU professors and students as well as members of the Guinness World Records committee, Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau chief, the Taipei City Tourism Bureau director and the director of the Yangming Mountain National Park Service.

when ‘Jesus Christ’ sent letter to Oprah Winfrey

A letter from Jesus Christ might be the affirmation Oprah Winfrey needs to run for the presidency. WGME-TV reports an 83-year-old Maine woman who changed her name to Jesus Christ says she began a letter writing campaign 50 years ago to spread a message of faith and peace. Christ says she sent the letter to Winfrey because she likes her but had no idea it would get so much attention.

Gayle King, one of the hosts of “CBS This Morning,” posted about the letter to Winfrey on Instagram on Wednesday, asking if it was the sign her best friend was looking for. Winfrey said on “60 Minutes” that if God wanted her to run for president “wouldn’t God kinda tell me?” Christ says she didn’t know there was speculation about Winfrey, but she’d vote for her.

A Minnesota man said a “weird dream” inspired him to purchase the lottery ticket that won him a $100,000 jackpot. Lor Her of St. Paul told Minnesota Lottery officials his newfound wealth wouldn’t have happened if it hadn’t been for a “weird dream” he had about suddenly receiving a windfall.

“I woke up thinking maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket and see what happens,” Her said. The winner said he bought a $100,000 Ultimate Getaway scratch-off ticket from the Tri City BP gas station in Roseville and discovered his dream was apparently prophetic -- he won the $100,000 top prize. “Sometimes dreams do mean something,” Her said. Her said his plans for the money include buying his parents a new car and funding his upcoming wedding.
