Naidu has put the interests of the State at peril, he alleges

YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has promised complete fee reimbursement to students belonging to the Economically Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes pursuing courses in engineering and medicine. Addressing a public meeting here, Mr. Reddy said the fee reimbursement introduced by the former Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, was providing ₹35,000 per student, but parents had to incur a debt of ₹3 lakh to pay the full fee.

“If I come to power by God’s grace and your blessings, I will ensure complete fee reimbursement to students pursuing engineering and medicine. This apart, our government would provide ₹15,000 for every girl child in school,” Mr. Reddy said. Earlier, Mr. Reddy received a rousing reception as he entered the town, the gateway to Palnadu. People came from Gurazala and Piduguralla to welcome him.

Lashes out at CM

Continuing his tirade against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Mr. Reddy said Mr. Naidu had stooped to such a level that he had put the interests of the State at peril by not raising his voice against the Centre.

“Mr. Naidu is now claiming that if the Centre targets him, it amounts to lowering the self-respect of the people. Did the people of the State ask him to bow before the Centre and accept a package without any legal sanctity? Did the people ask him to indulge in corruption of such massive scale that the Centre is having second thoughts of funding the projects?” Mr. Reddy questioned.

In jibes directed against Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao and his family, Mr. Reddy alleged that apart from GST the people of Narsaraopet were forced to pay Kodela Sales Tax (KST). Businessmen, builders, and traders were forced to pay bribes in order to do business, he alleged.
