People told to take precautions to avoid complications

The District Medical Officer, Kozhikode, has issued an advisory in the wake of a suspected death due to sunstroke at Koorachundu in the district on Friday.

A press release issued by V. Jayashree, DMO, said on Saturday that the temperature was likely to soar in April and May, and people should take precautions to avoid complications.

If symptoms of sunstroke such as high body temperature, high heart beat, and perspiration are experienced, one should be given urgent medical attention. Cooling the body and consuming water in large quantities at regular intervals will help, she added.
