Florida - A confidante of President Donald Trump says the president expects to make one or two major staff changes "very soon" as Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin's hold on his job looks increasingly precarious.
Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy told ABC's "This Week" that he had spoken to the president and was told of plans for the changes. He says the White House had indicated that Shulkin would be departing "very soon".
Shulkin has been facing rebellion at his agency amid damaging government investigations into his alleged spending abuses.
Trump is spending the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago estate. He told associates that he plans to keep two other administration officials who have been under fire: White House chief of staff John Kelly and Housing Secretary Ben Carson.
