Extension of panel term resented

more-in

The Hyderabad School Parents Association (HSPA) has taken objection to the extension of the Prof. Tirupathi Rao Committee, looking into the school fee issue, by another three months and termed it an action to further aid the private schools in their loot.

The Government issued orders on March 19 extending the time given to the committee by another three months. This is an additional extension after Prof. Rao submitted his report a couple of months ago and that was rejected by the parents as they alleged that it was heavily loaded in the favour of school managements.

The HSPA, in a statement said, at a time when the citizens were waiting for concrete action from the government to regulate school fees, it chose to reconvene a committee that has proved incompetent in understanding the problem and proposing an effective solution. The HSPA said that it outright rejects the committee and refuses to participate in future meetings.
