 In Jammu and Kashmir, one terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Budgam district today. Acting on specific information about the presence of terrorists in Khan Mohalla of Arizal in Beerwah area, security forces launched a cordon and search operation last night.
Police said, in a bid to flee, terrorists came out of the house and began firing indiscriminately. The forces retaliated, killing one terrorist. Arms and ammunition have been recovered from the encounter site.
The identity of the slain terrorist and his group affiliation is being ascertained. The area is under cordon and searches are being conducted. A woman was also injured in the incident. The police promptly took the injured woman to a hospital and her condition is reported to be stable.
