more-in

N. Pratap Reddy, JD (S) nominee for the biennial election to the Legislative Council from North-eastern Graduates’ Constituency, has expressed concern over the benefits of the special status granted to Hyderabad Karnataka under Article 371(J) not fully reaching the region. Addressing presspersons here on Sunday, Mr. Reddy blamed the indifferent attitude of elected representatives for the poor implementation of the programmes. He said that unemployed youth have not got jobs in government services because of the unnecessary confusion created in giving reservation at the local and State level.

He criticised the government for not releasing funds meant for the development of the region.

Mr. Reddy demanded separate Cadre and Recruitment rules for the region, besides establishing a separate Karnataka Administrative Tribunal in Kalaburagi, appointing a senior elected representative as president of Hyderabad Karnataka Region Development Board and filling up all vacant posts, among others.
