President Ram Nath Kovind has said, there is a need to further expand trade ties between India and Germany.
During his meeting with German President Dr Frank-Walter Steinmeier at Rashtrapati Bhawan last night, Mr Kovind said, economic partnership between the two sides is doing well and there is growing cooperation in trade and investment.
He, however, said bilateral trade, at about 18.7 billion dollars, is far below potential and there is a need to work on this.
President Kovind said, India considers Germany as a natural partner in its quest for sustainable growth.
He said, in these times, no corner of the world is immune to terrorism.
Mr Kovind said, terrorism poses a constant threat to our societies and to our development and progress.
He said, the two countries must join hands, ever more strongly, to defeat these inhuman forces.
The President said, India deeply values Germany’s role in promoting global peace and stability.
