Liverpool news: Philippe Coutinho DEMANDS Barcelona sign Mohamed Salah - report
PHILIPPE COUTINHO has urged Barcelona to raid Liverpool for Mohamed Salah, it has been claimed.
Salah has been linked with a summer switch to Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain as a result of his incredible form since joining Liverpool from Roma.
According to Don Balon, Coutinho demanded a say in who the club signed when he moved to the Nou Camp from Anfield in January for £142million.
The Brazilian had a word with Barcelona’s top brass before heading off on international duty, the Spanish publication claim.
And he reportedly urged told them to launch a swoop for former team-mate Salah instead of Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann.
Salah has scored 36 times in 41 appearances for Liverpool and has been backed to break Ian Rush’s club record for most goals in a single season.
Anfield bosses are reportedly set to offer the Egypt international a bumper new deal as a reward for his stunning form.
But they are likely to have to fight off interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
According to Don Balon, former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez agrees with Coutinho’s demand for Salah’s signature.
However, Lionel Messi will reportedly be given the final decision over whether to pursue the 25-year-old.
Salah has earned comparisons to Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo but Egypt boss Hector Cuper deems it unlikely that the Liverpool ace can become the best player on the planet.

"I think Salah is one of the best players in the world right now and I don't know if he can be the best player in the world but what he's doing now is really important," Cuper said.
"I think that without a doubt Salah is one of our best players for Egypt.
"I always say that behind a great player [there] has to be a great team.
"I don't know if we are a great team but we cover what Salah gives us, we try to give as much security as we can as a team and until now we were able to achieve things.
"We know that as we raise the bar we have to raise the level up."
