Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah has challenged the opposition to bring the no-confidence motion in the parliament. While addressing a public rally in Guwahati, Shah said "the BJP government is all prepared to face the motion, we have the absolute majority with us."
He also accused the Opposition of not allowing the House to function. "We are ready to debate on all issues but it is the Opposition which does not want to House to function", he added.
"We will go to people and seek answers and justice to what Congress is doing in Parliament", Shah said.
During the rally, he said that the BJP wants to ensure Assam's progress through development. "NDA needs to have a strong hold in the North East", he said.
"In the upcoming elections of 2019, the BJP will win more than 21 seats out of the 25 seats in the North East", a confident Shah said.
Amit Shah also said that Congress leaders including party president Rahul Gandhi had visited the North East and put baseless allegations on the BJP during their rallies. "I want to ask Rahul Gandhi, what did he do for Assam's development in the last 10 years?".
Ahead of panchayat polls in Assam and 2019 general election, Amit Shah visited the state and will meet around 26,000 booth presidents to prepare the road map for the elections.
