FSSAI favours comprehensive legislation for organic foods

"Presently, the agriculture ministry and APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) are having separate guidelines for organic foods. We feel there should a single legislation in this regard," of said.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a (CII) event here today, he said FSSAI has already prepared a draft regulation on organic food which has been put up in the public domain for seeking views from various stakeholders.
