Author: Daniel H. Pink

Publisher: Canongate Books

We’ve all heard what they say about being at the right place, at the right time. Seems to be an art, almost, or even just luck. But New York Times best-selling author Daniel H. Pink, asserts that getting that timing right, is a science. And a better understanding of this science can help us live healthier and more satisfying lives. By examining and taking apart studies done in fields like biology, economics, psychology, and anthropology.

But the book is as practical as it is theoretical. Pink tells us, for example, which time of day is better to make decisions. This may not be the same for everyone, as it depends on your ‘chronotype’ (the book helps you find out if you are a ‘lark’, a ‘third bird’ or an ‘owl’ — some of us may already have an idea). Leveraging your chronotype to adjusts when you do certain tasks could make you far more productive. Each chapter is accompanied by a brief ‘Time Hacker Handbook’ to help you make daily decisions: when to take study breaks, when to exercise and life decisions: when to change jobs or when to get married. If it’s a deeper dive you want, the author suggests six more books you can read.
