Former RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has been sentenced to seven years in jail in the fourth fodder scam case. He has also been fined with Rs 30 lakhs.
He was convicted by a special CBI court in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
Lalu along with 19 other accused were held guilty in the Dumka fodder scam case pertaining to illegal withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore funds from the treasury.
This fourth fodder scam involves the fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from the treasury of Dumka, which is now in Jharkhand, but was in Bihar when Lalu was chief minister.
In other cases, Lalu Prasad has also been sentenced to jail for five and three and half years. The sentence will be carried out separately and will not be combined. He was charged under various sections criminal conspiracy.
