A picture of a young medical student trying to help a young man injured in a road accident in Belagavi on Friday was shared on many a social media platform.

The image showed the Hijab-wearing junior doctor kneeling down on the road, beside the victim, trying to help stop bleeding and probably provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Though the picture was gory, some students from KLE colleges shared the picture after masking the accident victim’s face and blurring out the blood stains.

The accident happened near the BSNL office when two motorcycles rammed each other. Liyano Emmanuel (24), from Bengaluru, died on the spot, while his colleague Rakesh Rajendra (24), a resident of Mysuru, was injured. Both worked for a Bengaluru-based automobile company.

Within minutes, the Traffic Police summoned an ambulance to the spot and shifted the two victims to the district hospital. Rajendra is recovering.

The young girl was identified as Ameera Natasha, from Malaysia, a final year student of MBBS in KLE Society’s USM-KLE International Medical Programme.
