Two bodies found near jet ski on Bribie Island, police declare crime scene

The bodies of a man and woman have been found near a jet ski on a Bribie Island beach.

Police were notified of the bodies at the northern tip of the island by a member of the public at 8.17am on Saturday.

Water police, scenes of crime officers and detectives later arrived from the mainland.

A crime scene was declared, with police working to determine whether the jet ski belonged to the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

A public appeal for information has been launched to identify the man and woman.

Detectives have asked for information regarding anyone who was known to be travelling to or from Bribie Island and has failed to return.
