Shehbaz Khan, one of the victims of the Bhandup triple murder last week, was aggressive in nature and would often pick fights in the area, the police said on Friday.

Shehbaz, his brother Shadaab and their father, Ghulam Ali Khan, were allegedly stabbed to death by four brothers after an argument on Sunday afternoon. The police have arrested two of the four accused, Azeem and Kasim Qureshi.

“Inquiries with residents of the area have indicated that Shehbaz would often pick fights with vegetable vendors. The argument that led to the murder seems to have been started by him, and it took a violent turn very fast,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 7) Akhilesh Singh said.

The two arrested accused, who were picked up from Delhi on Wednesday night, have been remanded in police custody till April 2, and the police are now interrogating them as to the whereabouts of their brothers.

“The accused hail from Badaun district in Uttar Pradesh. We have a team in Badaun trying to find out if they are there. We are also working on identifying any friends or family members who may be harbouring them. Some family members of the accused are also missing,” Mr Singh said.

The murders occurred on Sunday in the Zakaria Masjid locality in Sonapur.
