Mumbai Police fulfils wish of 7-year-old cancer patient, makes him ‘inspector’ for a day

NEW DELHI. Mumbai Police today again won hearts, this time by fulfilling the dream of a seven-year-old cancer patient, Arpit Mandal, who aspired to become a police inspector.
Arpit was given charge of the Mulund police station for a day.

The social media team of Mumbai Police shared pictures of ‘Inspector Mandal’s’ day on Twitter, and praised the spirit of the young boy.

In the photos, police can be seen feeding cake to Arpit, who’s seen in a police uniform and sitting at his ‘office desk’.


Mumbai police’s gesture won over Twitter. It was lauded for bringing a smile to the young cancer fighter’s face.



This is not the first time a gesture by Mumbai Police garnered collective applause from social media.


In October last year, Sakinaka Police station threw a surprise party for a complainant after his personal details in the FIR revealed that it was his birthday.



Besides being sensitive, the ever vigilant and watchful protectors of Mumbai also have a humorous side. They make frequent use of one-liners and memes to send out important messages on social media.
