A 72-year-old person was killed when a speeding pick-up truck collided with an autorickshaw near Koothattukulam on Thursday.
The deceased person was identified as Cheriyan, a native of Koratty. Cheriyan, along with four others, was heading to Kottayam in an autorickshaw when the truck, proceeding from Ponkunnam to Muvattupuzha, hit them around 12.30 noon. Cheriyan was rushed to a hospital nearby but soon died of his injuries. A case has been registered.
