“Steps are being taken to check organised crime by detecting the Arms Act related cases in which out of 9 cases, people have been sent to jail in two cases,” said the City SP. It is really unfortunate that out of the nine cases registered during the last few days, only 2 or 3 of them were related to land dispute, while others were passionate crimes committed accidently because of sudden strong impulse such as sudden rage rather than as a premeditated crime, he added.
“The perpetrators of those crimes who have been held are also not habitual or history sheeter criminals but were of mixed pattern which could be detected only rather that prevented, he added. He, however, said that adequate arrangements were being done to check organized crime and a dedicated Police Team headed by SP rank officials has been formed to crack on the criminals and also to focus on crime related cases.
“Primary focus is to check organised crime as nothing much could be done to stop passionate crime it is committed accidently without any plan or motive,” said the City SP. Meanwhile, more than a dozen of illegal arms have also been recovered during the last few days, obtained mostly from the adjoining states with a motive to commit some crime, he added.
