Man dead after shots fired at Geraldton business

Police in Geraldton are continuing the manhunt for 48-year-old Rodney Vlahov after the shooting death of a man at a local business.

Searches throughout the night proved unsuccessful after the incident on Flores Road in the Geraldton suburb of Webberton about 12.20pm on Thursday.

However police did find the white Toyota Landcruiser that Mr Vlahov was driving at the time of the shooting in a local suburb nearby.

Police will continue the search for the 48-year-old and have warned the public to steer clear of their operation for safety reasons.

The victim of the shooting drama died from his gunshot wounds shortly after the incident, which has rattled Geraldton locals.

"This is a tragic incident that has shocked the Geraldton community and our thoughts are with the deceased man’s family at this time," a police spokesperson said.

A firearm was found at the scene of the shooting but police said they "cannot discount that Mr Vlahov may have access to other firearms".

Any sightings of the wanted man should be reported to police immediately on 131 444.
