Mistakes are embarrassing.

They’re even more embarrassing when journalists team up to make them when writing about themselves.

This is not Jim Wojcik.

It’s true that Jim Wojcik, longtime advisor to CM Life, journalism instructor and Mt. Pleasant community leader will be inducted into the Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame next month.

It is not true that Wojcik is in this photograph.

It was filed in CMU public relations archives as being Wojcik.

And a quick look by Woj himself – who later admitted he didn’t look that closely – confirmed it was him.

We agreed. Why question it?

Thanks to David B. Shirley, CMU emeritus faculty member, who told us the photograph is of librarians Nancy Buckeye and Edward Walsh working with Park Library’s first computer system in the late 1970s.
