Standing outside the mortuary of Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital, Nasir Khan’s brother Sajid said Mr. Nasir was a happy person and was making preparations for two weddings in the family scheduled next week on March 27 and March 28.
“I was supposed to get married on March 28 and our cousin Hamad was getting married a day before. Nasir was very excited. He was helping us with venue and catering in our village in Baghpat where the weddings were to be held,” said Mr. Sajid.
Celebrated birthday
“In fact, he celebrated his birthday on March 17 with his friends at the club,” he added.
The family claimed that Mr. Nasir was not troubled and alleged that he had an argument with his business partners a few days ago.
“He spoke to me around 1 p.m. on Wednesday. He told me he had an argument with his partners over some monetary issue but he did not share details,” claimed Mr. Hamad, Nasir’s cousin.
Foul play
He added that this information has forced them to suspect foul play.
“The business partners were also friends with the three persons with whom Mr. Nasir was partying,” claimed the victim’s uncle Abad Khan.
The family said that their suspicions doubled after his friends ran away with the pistol. “If they did not commit any crime then why did they run away?” Mr. Sajid questioned.
Last rites
The victim’s body was taken to Baghpat after the post-mortem for last rites.
