Waste from the Seethawaka Investment zone has contaminated the Kelani river

COLOMBO (News 1st) – The National Water Resources and Drainage Board states that waste material that was released into Kelani river from Seethwaka Investment Zone has contaminated the river.

The General Manager at the National water supply and drainage board D.U. Sumenesekara said that the public will not be affected by contaminated water as the Ambatale water purification center is purifying the water which is being distributed. He further added, the releasing of waste into the Kelani river is being investigated.
