92 exam centres set up across 5 taluks

As many as 27,695 students in Dharwad district are expected to appear for the SSLC examination from March 23 to April 6.

According to Deputy Director of Public Instruction B.H. Nagoor, the students include 13,317 girls. The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has set up 92 examination centres in the five taluks of the district. While 47 centres are in Dharwad–Hubli city, 45 are in the rural parts of the district, he said.

All the centres would have CCTV cameras to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the examination. Apart from examination halls, the offices of the chief superintendent and the joint chief superintendent would also have CCTV cameras. The authorities have imposed prohibitory orders in a radius of 200 metres from the examination centres. The ban orders would be in force till the examination is over. Photocopying shops have been asked to close business during the examination hours.

To contain malpractice, special sitting and mobile squads have been formed. Students have been asked to carry hall tickets, compass box and other materials mentioned behind the hall ticket to the examination hall. They should be present at the centre 15 minutes before the commencement of the examination and occupy their respective seats. Students have been told not to bring cellphones or any other electronic device to the examination centres, Mr. Nagoor added.

Free bus service

The North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation has made arrangements to ferry SSLC students for free to the examination centres and back home. Students can show their hall tickets and board any rural, local or Vegadooth bus to reach the examination centre.
