Sikkim is experiencing snowfall in most of its upper reaches area. Rain and hailstones occurred yesterday affected normal life in the state. Traffic was disrupted for about an hour. The local met office has already issued a weather warning advising people to remain in safer places.
Director of Sikkim Meteorological centre, Gopi Nath Raha informed that the state experienced rain, snow and hailstones due to an upper air trap in the north and east district. Here is a report: The state after incessant rain and hailstones occurred in its most of places yesterday has returned back to normalcy. The tourists now are enjoying the sunshine. The local met office, however, has issued a warning indicating that the thunderstorm accompanied by hail, rainfall and snowfall at higher altitude are likely to affect some parts of the districts of north and east Sikkim
