Indian Pacer Mohammed Shami receives Grade B contract after ACU permission

CHENNAI: Indian Pacer Mohammed Shami has been involved by BCCI in its central contracts following its Anti-Corruption and Security Unit acquitted him of any illegal behavior. He will be given Grade B Contract. Pacer Shami will now participate in Delhi Daredevils team for forthcoming Indian Premier League.

ACU is being told by Committee of Administrators to probe charges put by Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan against him. She added that the pacer also allegedly received money from a businessman.

ACU Chief Neeraj Kumar said, “No further actions/proceedings under the BCCI anti-corruption code are warranted in the matter pertaining to Mohammed Shami.”

During probe, Mohammad Shami confessed that he lied to his wife about financial transactions just to spend quality time with women’s in Dubai.

“He just cooked-up a story to suit his needs… the ACU even checked his bank details and, and there has been no suspicious entry into his account. He couldn’t reveal directly to his wife him meeting his female friends outside marriage,” sources affirmed.

Mohammad Shami stated, “I was upset that my faithfulness and promise towards my nation was questioned. The allegations of match-fixing specifically brought me under pressure. I can’t show gratitude to BCCI enough.”
