ALLAHABAD: Denying all reports of change in his decision, Nishad party MLA from Gyanpur, Vijay Mishra, has reiterated that he will support Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate in Rajya Sabha elections for 10 seats from Uttar Pradesh on March 23.
Talking to TOI, Mishra said that his meeting with Shivpal Singh Yadav on Thursday was a family affair and it does not imply that he would vote for SP or BSP candidate.

Pravin Nishad, son of Nishad Party president Sanjay Nishad, had contested the recent Gorakhpur Lok Sabha bypoll as an SP candidate and won with BSP support.

" Hamare Shivpal ji se paarivarik sambandh hain, aur main jab bhi Lucknow aata hoon toh unse zaroor milta hoon" (I have family relations with Shivpal Singh Yadav and whenever I come to Lucknow I always meet him), said the MLA, who was thrice elected from the same seat on Samajwadi Party ticket.

When asked pointedly, whether he will vote for BJP, Mishra said he had met chief minister on Thursday evening itself, and assured him and the party that he will vote only for BJP candidate. " Mera khula samarthan hai BJP ke ummeedwar ke liye " (There is my open support for BJP candidate), said Mishra. "I am not going to vote for any other party's candidate," he clarified.

On being asked, is he is going to join BJP, he said, "At present, there is nothing of that sort. Presently, it is about supporting or not supporting BJP. I am very clear that my vote is for BJP."
