Elon Musk Deleted The SpaceX, Tesla Facebook Pages
Several days after the scandal around Facebook’s data breach was revealed, Elon Musk chimed in on Twitter. The SpaceX, Tesla and The Boring Company founder and CEO replied to a tweet Friday from Internet entrepreneur Brian Acton that said “#deletedFacebook,” Musk said, “What’s Facebook?”
His sarcastic reply garnered attention from other Twitter users, who pointed out that Musk’s companies all had Facebook pages. There were even a few Facebook pages claiming to be Musk himself. Musk said he wasn’t aware that the companies had Facebook pages.
After several users suggested Musk delete the Facebook pages for his companies SpaceX and Tesla, Musk agreed. Less than half an hour later, both pages were off of the social media platform. All that was left was a “Sorry, this content isn’t available right now,” page.
Musk even tweeted that the Tesla Facebook page “Looks lame anyway.”
Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder and CEO, and Musk have a history of rivalry. SpaceX even launched one of Facebook’s rockets once, after the first one it attempted to launch exploded on the launch pad.

Musk has also questioned Zuckerberg’s authority on artificial intelligence quite publicly. Musk, a believer in regulation for the development of AI, said Zuckerberg’s knowledge on the technology is “limited.”
Musk's apparent dislike for Facebook did not spill over to Facebook's 2012 acquisition Instagram, though the photo-sharing app is currently owned by Facebook. The Tesla and SpaceX Instagram accounts were still up and running Friday as was Musk's personal Instagram account where he's recently been sharing photos of his vacation.
Facebook and SpaceX did not immediately respond to Newsweek’s request for comment.
