Professor Pramod Padole appointed as new director of VNIT

NAGPUR: Prof Pramod M Padole from mechanical engineering department has been appointed as the new director of Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT). He will be taking over from Narendra Chaudhari in the last week of June. It is for the first time an institute person has been appointed as the director after the formation of the VNIT.
Prof Padole received the appointment letter on Thursday. He told TOI that his priorities include a better institute-industry interaction, inter-disciplinary research, internal revenue generation, converting innovations to commercial products or processes and generating better employment opportunities.

“I also wish to improve the National Institute Ranking, improve consultancy services and develop a technology park,” said Prof Padole.
