Roger Federer's shock revelation about Juan Martin del Potro defeat ahead of Miami Open
ROGER FEDERER’s Indian Wells Masters disappointment did not take long to disappear because he was satisfied with his performance.

The Swiss ace is preparing to return to action in the Miami Open for the first time since defeat to Juan Martin del Potro in the Californian desert earlier this month.
The Argentine edged their three-set affair to end Federer’s career-best 17-game winning streak to start the 2018 season and deny the 36-year-old the chance to retain the ‘Sunshine Double’.
Yet Federer insists the despondency of that defeat was soon gone having given his all in a closely-contested clash.

“It always takes a few days to recover from a busy and high-intensity weekend,” Federer admitted.
“Regardless of how difficult the match was physically, you still have a let-down emotionally, because you're drained from that perspective.
“You’re emotionally drained after every final, regardless of whether you win or lose.
“I'm happy about how I played and how I felt afterwards.

“It didn't take me a whole lot of time to get over it, to be honest, because I felt like it could have gone either way.
“Unfortunately I wasn't on the winner's side because maybe I have had enough luck throughout the last 14 months on my side of the court.
“So it's okay to lose some.”
Federer starts the defence of his Miami title against Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round after receiving a first-round bye.
