Deadpool 2 trailer: WHO is the kid? Marvel movie X-Force cast, plot, release date
THE DEADPOOL 2 Marvel movie main trailer just dropped and revealed that Cable wants to "kill the kid." Who is he and why does Deadpool form the X-Force?
Now we finally know the reason Deadpool forms the band of young heroes.
In his typically irreverent way he declares: ““We need them tough, morally flexible and young enough to carry their own franchise for ten to twelve years.”
By the end it is clear that this is the start of the X-Force, which is expected to spin off into a separate franchise once the Fox and Disney deal is finalised. Deadpool even makes the symbol with his arms happily admitting it is a “little derivative “ before saying, “Now, let’s go get our f*** on” and jumping out of a plane.
So, who is the young kid everyone wants to kill or save and where have you seen the young actor who plays him before?

Josh Brolin makes his dramatic appearance exploding onto the screen and his very first line lays out the heart of the movie.
Cable has travelled through space and time on his mission and he says: “The name’s Cable. We’re here for the kid. Move or die.”
It is Vanessa who persuades her morally ambivalent boyfriend to step up and protect the young character. She tells Deadpool: “Kids give us the chance to be better than we used to be. He needs you.”
The kid seems to have been locked up and is shown with a restraining collar which presumably inhibits his extraordinary pyrokinetic abilities.

There is no shortage of Marvel and X-Men characters with fire-starting abilities.
One of the most likely matches is Neal Shaara AKA Thunderbird. The third character to take on the mantle of Thunderbird was the first Indian member of the X-Men and an early attempt to diversify the world of the X-Men in the early noughties.
Young star Julian Dennison is Maori, which is a good fit for expanding representation in the Marvel world.
Other colour-blind pyrokinetic options for the character include Rusty Collins AKA Firefist, Match, or even original X-Men franchise star, Pyro.

Unfortunately we still have no clear idea why Cable wants to kill him, whoever he is.
In one Cable and Deadpool comicbook storyline Cable travels back from an alternate timeline to correct mistakes Deapool has made, so it seems likely the part-cyborg warrior is seeking to prevent something happening in the future.
It's all a world and many timelines away from Dennison's most famous big screen outing so far.

Dennison made an impressive international splash in the cult hit Hunt For The Wilderpeople, opposite Sam Neill.
The movie was a surprise internation hit and the highest grossing New Zealand movie in history. The director Taika Waititi went on to direct Thor Ragnarok and his young star looks set to match his blockbuster success.
