After 14 seasons on the Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin sideline, Chris Poulos stepped down from his position as the Lions’ head basketball coach.

NDCL announced Poulos’ decision March 23. Interim athletic director Jim Clark will lead the search for a replacement.

“I will be stepping down as boys basketball coach due to increased responsibilities as one of our school’s administrators,” Poulos said in a release. “At this point in my personal life and career, this is the appropriate move at the appropriate time.”

Poulos currently serves as NDCL’s Dean of Students. He will assume further commitment as an assistant principal next school year.

Poulos was an assistant head coach for eight seasons prior to becoming the Lions’ head coach. He was at NDCL’s helm for six years.

The Lions went 3-20 in the 2017-18 season. NDCL will return rising junior Peyton Bissler to next season’s team after he led the Lions in scoring, alongside a handful of rising juniors and seniors who gained significant varsity experience this year.
