Here’s a list of at least 10 things to do in Winnipeg on Spring Break

Looking for things to do with the kids next week?

If you are lucky enough to to have the week of Spring Break off, or even a day or two, and want a reason to get the kids out of the house, here are a few options.

Museums

Manitoba Museum (190 Rupert Avenue): Explore the ‘Science of the Small’.  March 24 – April 1, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Canadian Museum of Human Rights (85 Israel Asper Way): various exhibits March 24 – April 1; admission is free for kids 12 and under.

Manitoba Electrical Museum (680 Harrow Street): Legends of Electricity, March 26 – 29; 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Royal Aviation Museum (958 Ferry Road): Crafts, games and Easter Egg hunts,  March 25 – 29

Manitoba Children’s Museum (at The Forks): From castles & dragons to Master Builders; Sunday – Thursday: 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Friday & Saturday: 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Outdoors

Fort Whyte Alive:  Day camps are sold out, but the centre is open Monday – Thursday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

Oak Hammock Marsh: Day camps for kids, Wild Wetland Week, open 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. daily

Assiniboine Park Zoo: Day camps, wagon rides, guided tours. Check for activity times. Open daily from 9 a.m. –5 p.m.

Indoors

Some local movie theatres have scheduled daytime shows.

Activities and craft sessions have been planned at many area stores and malls:

• Kildonan Place
• CF Polo Park
• St. Vital Centre

Also consider indoor trampoline parks or climbing centres, bowling lanes, swimming pools or skating rinks.
