Software major Microsoft is banking on work management and chat app Kaizala to boost growth of its enterprise products in India. The professional chat application, which was launched in July 2017 in India and is available in three other markets, is synced with Microsoft’s desktop product Office365 for a better coordination with all levels of workers in an organisation.With more companies in India migrating their technology infrastructure to the cloud, such mobile-based application could potentially improve coordination between the top rung officials and firstline workers. Rajesh Jha, executive vice president at Microsoft, believes as technology products are delivered through cloud today, the company can add more value by bringing in artificial intelligence and enhancing data security.
“The modern workforce is about firstline workers and they are now connected through mobile and we are making sure how does Office(365) help them connect back to the core business operations. Kaizala is about enabling business processes to happen in a very familiar chat interface,” Jha told ET.
Kaizala has nearly one million users in India, he said.
