The US Ambassador Kenneth Juster today met Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das, who told him that the state is one of the fastest growing in the country and expected American assistance in its development.
"Jharkhand is the fastest growing state in the country. Developing is happening here in every sector," Das said during the meeting.
He said Jharkhand is a prosperous state and 40 per cent of the mineral resources of the country are found in it. Besides it is also rich in forest produce, an official release said.
Its people are simple and hardworking and the state government is working towards making them prosperous, Das said adding Jharkhand expected American assistance in the development of the state.
The release said Juster said that Indias economy is fast growing and the country India has created a separate identity in the last four years under the leadership of Narendra Modi.
He said Jharkhand is important in the development of India and the USA is ready to become a partner in the development Jharkhand, it added.
Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathi, Principal Secretary (Home) S K G Rahate and other senior officials were present during the meeting, the release said.
