Vice President M Venkaiah today said there should be no politics on the basis of caste and religion.
After inaugurating three-day Bihar Diwas celebrations in Patna, Mr Naidu exhorted people to rise above caste, creed and petty politics.
He said non-violence is the most powerful weapon for change.
The Vice President said the political will is required for adequate reservation for women. He said comprehensive development and good governance should be agenda for any government.
The Vice President also released four books- 'Ek Tha Mohan', 'Bapu Ki Chiththi', 'Champaran Ki Kahani' and 'Neel Ke Dhabbe' on this occasion.
AIR Correspondent reports Bihar is celebrating its 106th foundation day today. It was on this day in 1912 that the state was carved out of a United Bengal. A number of programmes have been organised throughout the state.
The theme for this year's celebrations is "Centenary of Champaran Satyagraha and Elimination of Dowry and Child Marriage."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted the people of the state on the occasion.
In a tweet, he said right from historical times, Bihar's contribution towards the nation's progress is exemplary and invaluable.
