Gujarat assembly speaker accepts proposal submitted by opposition Congress party to move no-confidence motion against him |
Gujarat assembly speaker Rajendra Trivedi today accepted the proposal submitted by the opposition Congress party to move no-confidence motion against him.
Speaker said the date for the discussion and voting of the motion will be fixed later. Our correspondent reports that the deputy leader of the Opposition Shailesh Parmar had submitted a proposal to move a no-confidence motion against the speaker under the rules of the Assembly on February 28. This came after Speaker Rajendra Trivedi suspended Congress MLAs from the house for the date. Congress has alleged the Speaker for having "biased approach" against its members in conducting the House proceeding. It is noted that BJP has 99 members while Congress has 77 members in the assembly.
