MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP (AP) — A woman whose complaint about sports doctor Larry Nassar was dismissed by police in Michigan’s Meridian Township has been hired by the same community to train people about sexual misconduct.

Brianne Randall-Gay will be paid $30,000 under a one-year agreement approved Tuesday. Township Manager Frank Walsh says the goal is to educate people about preventing and reporting sexual assault, especially young adults.

The training will include police officers who will hear the Seattle-area woman’s story.

Randall-Gay was 17 when she told police in 2004 that Nassar had molested her during an appointment. Meridian Township police dropped the case after Nassar insisted he had performed a legitimate procedure with his hands. (Continued below.)
