Patna University (PU) will begin from April 2, according to a notification issued on Wednesday.
PU has released a detailed admission schedule for the new academic session (2018-19). While the deadline of online submission of forms is May 4, the last date of admissions is July 9. An induction meet of the newly admitted students will be held between July 10 and 16 and classes of the next academic session will commence from July 17.
For the first time, admission to all PG courses will be made on the basis of entrance test and not on the marks obtained in graduation. Admission to UG courses is being made through faculty-wise entrance tests for the last several years. This year the exam for admission to BCom honours courses in both regular and self-financing modes will be held on May 28 and that for admission to the BA honours course on May 29. The entrance test for admission to the BSc honours course running in different PU colleges will be held on May 30.
The institutions authorized to conduct entrance tests are
Magadh Mahila College (BCom honours), Patna Women’s College (BA honours),
Patna Science College (B Sc honours), Department of education (MEd course), College of Arts and Crafts (Bachelor of fine arts) and Department of law (LLM course).
The PG departments and colleges have been authorized to conduct entrance tests for admission to their self-financing courses as per the test schedule finalized by PU. The tests for most PG, UG and PG diploma courses are likely to be completed by the end of May, according to PU students’ welfare dean
