All India Congress Committee secretary in-charge of Goa desk, Chella Kumar, will arrive in Goa on Friday to set the motion for the selection of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president to succeed Shantaram Naik and to build consensus on the new president.
Sources in the party have said that Kumar will hold a series of meetings with Congress MLAs and senior party leaders at Dona Paula and if required, he may also visit district Congress offices in north and south Goa.
Chella Kumar said that he will consult all the MLAs and party leaders and prepare a list of probable candidates, which will then be sent to AICC president, Rahul Gandhi, to take a final call on appointing the new GPCC chief.
