more-in

The Ernakulam district panchayat plans to provide bottled water from the water collected from river Periyar. A bottling plant will be set up close to the Neryamangalam agricultural farm.

The facility will be set up at Neryamangalam to reduce the cost of the project, according to the budget presented in the panchayat. The bottled water will be available this year itself.

The budget has also set aside ₹30 lakh for the improvement of handloom as well as khadi and village industries sectors. The khadi groups in Sreemoolanagaram, Mookkannoor, Kavalangad, Keezhmad, Erumathala, Pampakkuda, Kakloor, Ooramana and Moovattupuzha would be revived and strengthened, the budget said.
