Nishaptura police have booked five miscreants including a woman for selling government land at Rasuilia village worth Rs 50 crore; documents were forged to sell land by the accused.
Police said that the main accused Badshah has sold the land khasra number 18 which was government land in Rasulia village.
The complaint was lodged with the Nishatpura police by Revenue Inspector Rajesh Patel posted at Nayab Tehsildar Bairagarh office after it was found that the government land was sold to around half a dozen people who have constructed houses on the sold land.
In fraud was committed during the year 2012-to 2014.
The fraud surfaced after Waseem Uddin lodged a complaint with the Tehsil office at against the selling of government land by misleading the buyers claiming the government land to be private property.
The police have registered a case under sections 420 and 34 of the IPC against Badshah, Govind Yadav, Rakesh Yadav, Saba Khan and Lakhanlal and have started further investigation. The residents of the government land have claimed that they have bought the land through fair means.
The main accused Badshah produced fake documents claiming his ownership over the land and sold the land to the victims. According to the rates of land in the area the estimated cost of the land is worth Rs 50 crore.
Police have started further investigation and would nab the accused which could help in the revealing the nexus working which is involved in selling land fraudulently.
