In an effort to bring awareness to the hunger need in Wichita Falls, community leaders helped THE Kitchen deliver meals to its seniors, disabled and homebound clients.
The annual Meals on Wheels Community Champion's Day event allows the program's clients "to see strong leaders in Wichita Falls serve as champions for their needs," a press release stated.
Judges, city council members, foundation representatives, members of the Wichita Falls police and fire departments and Wichita County Sheriff's Office joined in delivering about 850 meals as part of the event.
