Jeera futures rise Rs 530 on high export demand

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Jeera prices rose further by Rs 530 to Rs 15,280 per in futures market today after participants widened positions backed by rising demand.

Moreover, restricted supplies in the domestic spot market and some export enquiries too supported the uptrend.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for May rose by Rs 530, or 3.59 per cent, to Rs 15,280 per with an open interest of 993 lots.

Likewise, the spice for April traded higher by Rs 470, or 3.26 per cent, to Rs 14,880 per in 8,502 lots.

Traders said, speculative positions built up by participants amid pick-up in domestic as well as export demand, mainly led to the rise in jeera prices at futures trade.
